1. Role of Istina

Istina acts solely as a technology platform that enables users to create and participate in quests.

Istina is not the organizer, sponsor, or promoter of any quest and does not offer, fund, or guarantee prizes or prize pools.

Each quest is created and managed by an independent creator.

2. Quest Information

Each quest includes information provided by the creator, including:

Quest name
Start date and time
End date and time
Physical location
Location instructions
Visibility (public or invite-only)
Category
Description and quest rules

You are responsible for reviewing all quest details and rules before participating.

3. Participation Conditions

Participation in a quest may be:

Free, or
Paid, requiring payment in USDC.

If participation is paid:

the participation fee is clearly displayed before you join;
payments are final unless otherwise stated in the quest rules or required by applicable law.

USDC is a digital stablecoin designed to maintain a value approximately equal to one United States dollar (1 USDC ≈ 1 USD).

Unless otherwise stated in the quest rules or required by applicable law, participation fees are non-refundable. Refund conditions, if any, are governed by the Event Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Payment Responsibility: Entry fees go directly to the creator (net after Istina platform fee). Istina provides technical facilitation only. Refunds governed by creator rules and Event Cancellation Policy. Istina is not liable for non‑delivery of prizes or creator issues except as required by law.

Nothing in this notice affects any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

4. Immediate Performance & Withdrawal Rights

By participating in this quest, you expressly request immediate access to the service and acknowledge that, once participation begins, you lose any applicable right of withdrawal under EU/EEA consumer law.

5. Quest Mechanics and Ranking

Quests involve the discovery of a Discovery Key, which is a hidden element located in the real world.

The location and description of the Discovery Key are revealed only when the quest begins.
Ranking is determined by how quickly participants unlock the Discovery Key.
The participant who unlocks the Discovery Key first is ranked highest.

Quest ranking is determined automatically by Istina’s technical mechanisms and cannot be modified or influenced by the creator.

For quests that include a prize pool, only one (1) winner may be designated.

6. Discovery Key Rules

Discovery Keys:

are between 5 and 45 characters in length; and
contain only letters (A–Z, a–z), numbers (0–9), and hyphens (-).

Only valid unlocks that comply with the quest description, rules, and platform conditions are considered.

7. Real-World Participation and Safety

Quests may require participants to visit real-world locations.

By participating, you acknowledge that:

participation is voluntary and at your own risk;
you are responsible for your own safety and conduct;
you must comply with all applicable laws, property rules, and safety instructions.

You must not:

trespass on private property;
access restricted or unsafe areas;
engage in dangerous or unlawful behavior.

Istina does not verify locations and does not assume responsibility for participant safety.

8. Prizes

A quest may include a prize.

Prizes, if any, are funded and offered by the quest creator, not by Istina.
Istina does not guarantee the value, delivery, or outcome of any prize.
Prizes awarded in USDC may be distributed through on-chain smart contracts.

Blockchain transactions are public and irreversible.

9. Creator-Managed Prizes

If the creator chooses to organize prizes independently (outside Istina’s prize features), this must be clearly stated in the quest description and rules.

In such cases, Istina is not involved in prize handling or distribution.

10. No Guarantee of Outcome

By participating, you acknowledge that:

participation does not guarantee winning;
only one participant may win a quest prize;
Istina does not guarantee quest outcomes, prize availability, or completion.

11. Legal and Age Restrictions

Participation is limited to users 18 years of age or older.

Jurisdictional Restrictions: Paid‑entry quests with prizes are prohibited or regulated in certain jurisdictions (e.g., some US states may require registration or have strict rules; paid‑entry quests with prizes are prohibited in Vermont and Maryland, and are restricted in Arizona; some EU countries may restrict paid quests). If located in such a jurisdiction, you must not participate. Real‑world quests must also comply with local public safety and access laws.

Istina does not verify compliance with contest, gaming, or location‑specific laws. You are solely responsible for lawful participation. Quests may be geo‑restricted. Violations may result in disqualification or suspension.
